Nakajima's future with The Yankees

What are The Yankees doing this offseason? Well take a look at their biggest move which isn't so big.
I say trade him before he loses his value when everyone finds out that he isn't that good.

Yu Darvish and the Texas Rangers

Texas Rangers are trying to finalize a deal for starting pitcher Yu Darvish. Texas dropped $51.7 million just to have the rights to negotiate a deal with the 25 year old. Yu Darvish is a Japanese All Star. He wants 15 million dollars for five years. He is most likely going to get it from the Rangers.

Good? or a Bust?
I personally think he will be good starting pitcher but he won't be amazing. There is a big difference from the Japanese League to The MLB. I think Darvish will be ok. He won't be able to deliver what everyone is looking for because of the high expectations. The young guy will have trouble adjusting to The Show.
~ For all the high expectations it will be a BUST

Los Angeles Angels get Pujols and C.J. Wilson

The Angels made some key moves during the winter meetings this year. They signed one of the best first basemen in the game and the best starting pitcher in the open market. The Angels had a one week spending spree of more than $330 million. The only question is can Pujols produce for the next 10 years? Is C.J. Wilson legit? A lot of people think he is overrated. Could the Angels be going down the same path as the Boston Red Sox and failing to live up to expectations? ( I love being able to write that and might I add that before the season started last year, I called the failure of the BoSox) I think the Angels have made decent moves and I think they will obviously benefit from them but I wouldn't be getting too excited LA.

The Miami Marlins preparing for 2012 season

The Miami Marlins are stocking up on fire power during the off season. They have signed Heath Bell as their new closer and Jose Reyes as their new elite shortstop. So is Hanley Ramirez going to be fine with playing at third base? Well Ramirez has told the club he doesn't want to play third base or any other position except shortstop. He hasn't asked for a trade but was just informing the club that he is not ok with changing positions. The marlins seem pretty set on making Ramirez a third baseman saying he will be a All Star third baseman.

To make things more interesting the Miami Marlins have made a 10 year offer to Albert Pujols. Yes is said Albert Pujols!

Hanley Ramirez + Jose Reyes + Albert Pujols? + Heath Bell = A NEW MARLINS TEAM that will be legit (to bad the teams jerseys are horrible)

Russell Martin's big game on 8/25/11

5/5 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs

Why Yankee nation

yankee nation

As referred to by George Steinbruner, the belief that all yankee fans create a "nation". You're part of yankee nation if you're a yankee fan. This was George Steinbruner's way of saying that the yankees have more fans than any other major league baseball team. (Urban Dictionary)

Yankees make MLB history with three gand slams on 8/25/11

Yankees became the first team to hit three grand slams in a single game against the Athletics on 8/25/11. The Yankees made a comeback after being down 7-1 in the fourth inning to an amazing 9-22 victory. Robinson Cano, Russel Martin, and Curtis Granderson each put on a show with all of them hitting a grand slam. Russel martin had two homeruns on the night with a solo shot in the fourth. Martin finished the day 5/5 with 2 HRs and 6RBIs. It was his fourth multi homerun game of the year. I will post the video of Russel Martins 5 hits in a few days.

Yankees win 1 of 3 in series with Boston

The Yankees took game one in the three game series. Boston tied the series in game two and took the series with a close game three that went into extra innings. The Yanks need to start playing better against the Red Sox this year. This is the first time since 2004 that Boston clinched a win in the season series against New York Yankees. Im not worried at all but we would have had 1st place on lockdown if we played better against the Red Sox. It will be a very close finish for 1st place but all im concerned with is october but being at the top of AL East would be nice also. Lets hope the Yanks can turn it around and win the next series against the Angels. Tuesday Aug 9th 7:05 start time at Yankee Stadium. Burnett vs. Haren

Yankees vs. White Sox 8/02/11

The Yankees won 6-0 in Chicago. The game was called after six and half innings due to rain. Phil Hughes pitched a great 6 scoreless innings. He got the win on the night with 4 Ks. He had good velocity on his fastball. Joe Girardi was very impressed with Hughes start. This is going to make things very difficult with deciding on who to keep for the pitching rotation. Right now they have a six man rotation with Nova going on thursday. At some point it will come down to Hughes or Nova for a five man rotation. I ask the question again Hughes or Nova? I really like Nova but Hughes did pitch very good last night. The only thing that makes it not so great was that it was against the White Sox. It will be very intresting to see how Nova does on Thursday.

Also big news on the night Mark Teixeira sets a record for with HRs from both sides of the plate. Making a major league record 12th time tuesday night. Thats not easy to do! Also Russel Martin had a long solo homerun. I really like both of these two players. Thats why both are on my fantasy team. So it was a good night for me with the both of them combining for 3 HRs and 4 RBIs.

Yankees win both doubleheader games over Baltimore

Yankees won the first game 8-3. The Yanks rested a few starters and still won big. Bartolo Colon got the win with great run support. The whole team was hitting the ball. Nick Swisher had three hits which included a 2 run homerun.

It was a bad day to be an Orioles fan as the Yanks sweep the doubleheader with an amazing win 17-3. The bronx bomers put up 12 runs in the first inning! They set a franchise record for 12 runs in the first inning. Cano, Swisher, and Granderson all had good days at the plate. Cano went 5 for 5 with 5 RBIs. Swisher hit another 2 run bomb during the night game. Granderson went 4 for 6. It was just a great game to watch. Super Swisher has been crushing the ball lately. I love watching Swisher when he is on top of his game. Another important part of this game was Ivan Nova getting called back up from Triple-A. Nova had an easy night but still posts a (9-4)record on the year. Nova was sent down on July 3 for Phil Hughes when he came off of the disabled list. I believe that was a mistake. Nova needs to be in the rotation.

The Bronx Bombers do it again

The Yankees win big over The Mariners 10-3. Giving the Seattle Mariners their 16th straight loss. Teixeira got it started with his 27th home run of the season. This was a long ball that landed in the second deck in left field (425 feet). Also Derek Jeter had a solo home run. Yes Derek Jeter hit a home run. Both Teixeira and Jeter had 3 RBIs on the night. Garcia gets the win with 7.2 innings pitched with 3 ER and 5 strike outs. Hopefully the bats stay hot tonight.
Watch Teixeira's HR here!

Texas Rangers with MLB season high scoring 20 runs

Last night in Arlington The Texas Rangers scored 20 runs against the The Minnesota Twins. The final score was 20-6. A Game like this is always fun to watch unless your a Twins fan. They finished with 27 hits. The Rangers have won 23 of their last 33 games. The Rangers are first in the American League West division with the Angels 4 games behind.

SUPER SWISHER hits monster homerun!

BIG WINS on 7/22/11

The Yankees beat the Athletics 17-7
       - Mark Teixeira helps with a grandslam
       - Super Swisher hit a three run shot with 5 RBIs on the night

The Rangers beat the Blue Jays 12-2
      - Nelson Cruz breaks out with 8 RBIs going 4 for 4 which included a homerun on the night
      - bad night not to check my fantasy line up which had Cruz on the bench

The Royals beat the Rays 10-4
      - I like the royals this year with some good talent ( Melky Cabrera, Gordon, Hosmer, Francoeur)

Who would you rather have in the rotation Hughes or Nova?

This is a big topic lately on who should be in the rotation for the Yankees. Hughes (0-2, 10.57 ERA) and Nova (8-4, 4.12 ERA)

CC wins 14th on the year

With the help of CC Sabathia the yanks beat the jays 4-1 today. CC allowed just one run and three hits in eight innings with eight strikeouts. He got his 14th win of the season and I believe he will get 20 wins this year. There is no doubt in my mind that the Yankees will win when CC is on the mound. That's such a great feeling to have and the other players feed off that. He has been dominant and taking care of business every game. If he keeps this up he should get the Cy Young.

National League Wins 2011 All-Star Game

The National League beat the American League 5-1 for the second year in a row. This is a turn of events for the NL after losing 12 straight years and now having back to back wins. The NL is starting to show that they mean business and have some great talent. The only problem with the all-star game this year was that it was a some-star game because of the lack of players that participated. All together there was 16 players that didn't play. Some were ineligible due to pitching on Sunday and being on the DL. It took away from the game making it seem not as special and important as it really is. It was annoying as a fan having to listen to the announcers talk majority of the game on how we the fans got ditched and how this wasn't a true ALL-stars game. This is something that all baseball players and little league players dream about being part of. It should be an honor to play in the all-star game and something that every player looks forward to, not making it into an optional high school reunion in which you try to find excuses to get out of going.

Robinson Cano wins 2011 Home Run Derby

Cano puts on a show with numerous long balls and a few ridiculous bombs. I had a nickname for robby before and he lived up to that name tonight "Monster Cano". His longest of the night was 472 feet. Almost all of his home runs were hard hit and deep into the crowd at Chase Field. It was a showdown in the finals with Robinson Cano and Adrian Gonzalez. AKA The New York Yankees vs. The Boston Redsox. Once again the Yanks are victorious because of the effort and power of Cano. Cano broke the old record for third round homers which was at 11. Now Cano holds the new record with 12 (that was with only 6 outs). It was a great experience to watch Cano's father Jose Cano pitch to his son during the derby. You could feel and see how special it was for both of them. Congratulations to Robinson Cano!!!!

Jeter hits 3,000 with some authority

Derek Jeter hits a solo home run to left field for hit number 3,000. Derek Jeter became the 28th major league baseball player to reach 3,000 career hits on Saturday the 9th of July 2011. Not only was it a great day because of Jeter's achievement of the milestone but also because it was in the Bronx. It was a good day at the plate for Jeter. He went 5 for 5 with a double, 2 RBI, 2 RUNS and a stolen base. He had the game winning RBI in the eighth inning. The Yankees won 5-4 over the Rays. It was a perfect day that will not be forgotten. Congradulations Derek Jeter on hit number 3,000 and many more to come. You have earned it DJ3K.

Derek Jeter's chase for 3,000 hits

Derek Jeter is now as of 7-7-11 only two hits away from reaching 3,000! The best part of this is that it has a good chance to be at home in Yankee Stadium. Jeter will be the only Yankee in history to reach this milestone. Also he will be the only player in baseball history with the most hits at the shortstop position. You have to be a great hitter to reach 3,000 hits and shows that its not all luck or a fluke. If there was any doubt about Jeter and the hall of fame this will definitely change your mind. Anyone who gets 3,000 hits is a future hall of famer hands down. Good Luck Captain Jeter!

Russell Martin

This is a guy that deserves a lot of respect. He wears his heart on his sleeve and gives 110% every night. Being behind the plate every night takes a toll on you and isn't easy. He doesn't need many days off which is a positive with Francisco Cervelli as the backup. He plays very aggressive and has some power at the plate. You have to love the 7 stolen bases this year so far. He is a good guy and anyone who votes for him on the poll to the left gets respect from me.

Yankees vs. Brewers 7:05 PM ET 6/28/11

Brewers are ( 44 - 35 ) and the Yankees are ( 45 - 31)
I believe the yankees have an edge in this game with it being in New York tonight. The Yankees are 25-18 at home so far this year with the Brewers being 15-24 away. Zach Greinke and Freddy Garcia are todays starters. Fantasy Baseball owners take note Curtis Granderson 6-for-37 (.162) with 10 strikeouts in his career against Greinke. This is going to be a good matchup.
