National League Wins 2011 All-Star Game

The National League beat the American League 5-1 for the second year in a row. This is a turn of events for the NL after losing 12 straight years and now having back to back wins. The NL is starting to show that they mean business and have some great talent. The only problem with the all-star game this year was that it was a some-star game because of the lack of players that participated. All together there was 16 players that didn't play. Some were ineligible due to pitching on Sunday and being on the DL. It took away from the game making it seem not as special and important as it really is. It was annoying as a fan having to listen to the announcers talk majority of the game on how we the fans got ditched and how this wasn't a true ALL-stars game. This is something that all baseball players and little league players dream about being part of. It should be an honor to play in the all-star game and something that every player looks forward to, not making it into an optional high school reunion in which you try to find excuses to get out of going.
